Police on the lookout for hijacked SUV; victim lucky to be alive.

A man escaped the claws of death after having jumped from a moving SUV in the CBD after being hijacked.

According to Randfontein Police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst the man is considered lucky to be alive and sustained no serious injuries when he jumped from his moving SUV to flee from the two suspects.

“The man was hijacked in Mohlakeng in the morning as he was about to park his vehicle. He suddenly was approached by two men who produced firearms. One of them ordered him to the back of his car at gunpoint and they sped off with him in the vehicle,” she explains.

“They drove towards the Randfontein CBD but the victim chose to jump from the moving vehicle to escape from the hijackers. Fortunately he did not sustain major injuries, however the suspects got away with the vehicle.
