Man shoots at couple in road rage incident

Culprit arrested, appeared in court following alleged road rage incident.

A 35-year-old man was arrested for shooting at a couple out of rage.

Information received by police indicates that a 47-year-old man travelling with his wife on Main Road in Randfontein CBD was shot at by another man as a result of a road rage incident that occurred sometime last week.

No one is injured.

According to Randfontein Police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, “The 47-year-old victim and his wife were travelling in their vehicle when a driver of another vehicle started to harass them. One thing led to another and it is believed that the suspect drove at high speed towards the couple who started shooting at them.

“From what we understand, the couple then pulled over to inquire the reason for the driver’s actions when the driver decided to fire more shots at them.”

The couple decided to rush back to their car and immediately drove to the police station to report the incident.

The man arrested already have appeared in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court.
