Randfontein police is investigating a case of concealment of birth after the body of a baby was found dumped in a rubbish bin outside the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court.

Randfontein Police spokesperson Appel Ernst confirms that a passer-by found the body of the fully developed baby in a rubbish bin outside the court – at the corner of Pollock and Sutherland Streets – on Wednesday 13 August at approximately 2.15pm.

“A case of concealment of birth has been opened at the Randfontein Police Station and the matter is under investigation,” says Ernst.
