Police, EPR recover stolen car in minutes

"I didn't think I would see my car ever again"

Randfontein resident Frans van den Berg praises the Randfontein Police and EPR Security since they managed to recover their stolen car within minutes.

According to Van den Berg his car was stolen during a house robbery at his home in Greenhills, but thanks to a joint effort by dedicated police officers and reaction officers, two criminals were stopped in their tracks.

“I didn’t think I would see my car ever again were it not for them.”

Van den Berg explains, “It was around 5pm when my wife and I returned home, having been out for some time. Upon our return we were shocked to discover that one of our windows was broken and decided to investigate. As we went inside the house we noted that our two laptops, other valuable items as well as my car was gone.

He adds, “We immediately pressed the panic button and contacted the police”.

To his surprise, both EPR Security and the local police responded to his call within 10 minutes. He says that while at his house, one of the officers received a phone call informing him that the car they were looking for had been found.

He continued, “I really didn’t think I would see my car ever again. Everything happened so fast and everyone was efficient.

“It is because of such incidents that we need to give our officers of the law as well as our reaction officers the praises for a job well done,” says Van den Berg who adds that despite what people might say, he and his wife appreciate their efforts and good work and says this is one of the good stories to tell.
