Public invited to alcohol and drug free party

Vision 61 to host fun party to assist addicts or those seeking advice.

In a fight against drugs and substance abuse, Vision 61 – a non-profit-organisation in Randfontein – will be throwing an alcohol- and drug-free party for young and old on Saturday 9 August.

The party will be held at Batesda Ministry from 9am until late.

The herald caught up with Chantell Bentley from Vision 61 who says, “The party will be without alcohol, however, it will provide loads of fun.

“The purpose of the event is to create a safe environment where children of the area can let down their hair and party all they want. Although alcohol is prohibited, I can guarantee that the event will be loads of fun for everyone.”

Bentley says a live band will be performing as well as DJs. Those interested can also look forward to playing darts as well as pool among other fun activities.

It is worth noting that there will be a counsellor on site to assist those who may be troubled by something or have addictions to talk about and seek advice or help.

For more information regarding the event, people are urged to contact Bentley on 084 4382 630 or her mother Sonja Bentley on 074 9264 298.
