First Tekkie Tax photo competition a success
Meals on Wheels announces their Tekkie Tax winner.
During South Africa’s first Tekkie Tax Fundraising Campaign, Meals on Wheels Randfontein hosted a photo competition and recently announced the winners of their first Tekkie Tax competition.
According to the organiser of this competition, René Theunissen from Meals on Wheels Randfontein, three winners were announced on 23 July.
“Although Tekkie Tax took place on 30 May, we decided to give all the residents of Randfontein enough time to submit their creative Tekkie Tax photos,” says Theunissen.
She adds that the winner of the photo competition was Teresa de Gouveia. De Gouveia won a R1 500 Tekkie Town voucher proudly sponsored by Emile Piennaar from Randgate Pharmacy.
“We also gave a prize to the resident who best supported our initiative. This prize was won by Hester Nortjé and she can now enjoy a delicious meal, sponsored by Uncle Harry’s Roadhouse,” says Theunissen.
“Lastly we gave a consolation prize to Adel van den Bergh. She can enjoy a meal to the value of R250 at Randfontein’s San Pedro Spur.”
Theunissen and her team would like to thank each sponsor who contributed to the success of this competition. She adds that this year’s Tekkie Tax Photo Competition was such a success that it surely will become an annual competition for Meals on Wheels Randfontein.
