Mandela spirit continues for pastor and team

"Everyday is a struggle and one can imagine that every meal is really a gift": pastor.

The Good Samaritan spirit continued three days following official Mandela Day as workers from the Pillar of Strength Ministry’s, a non-profit-organization in Elandsvlei donated food parcels to the homeless people staying near the bridge on Freda Street today (21 July).

According to the founder of the ministry, pastor Dineo Molotsane, “This is in line with their mandate of helping out the needy the best way that they can. We recently spotted these homeless people and immediately thought that something needs to be done for them.

“We then decided to wake up in the morning and prepare a warm and nutritious meal for them because in all honesty, everyday is a struggle. One can imagine that every meal is really a gift,” says Molotsane.

“Those who are homeless often wonder where their next plate of food is going to come from. This may not mean much to some people but it means a lot to those who are homeless,” she continued.

She added “Her ministry will be constantly visiting homeless people and will be trying to gather funds in order establish a shelter where they can place them.”

The Herald spoke to one of the beneficiaries, Daniel Mthembu who says that he appreciates kindness and thrilled to have received such a warm meal for the day.
