Madiba Day: Trudy’s Nest reaches out to the elderly

Around 60 disadvantaged elderly people fed within Toekomsrus.

As part of their 67-munites for Madiba day, Trudy’s Nest along with the Randfontein Local Municipality and other sponsors prepared a meal for the disadvantaged elderly of Toekomsrus.

According to the owner of Trudy’s Nest, Trudy Haywood, sponsors such as the Department of Social Development, the Randfontein Local Municipality, Sibonye Gold Mines and councillor Mathuyne arranged this event that took place at the Toekomsrus Library.

“It is during this event where we prepared a meal for about 60 disadvantaged elderly people within the Toekomsrus Community,” says Haywood.

She adds that sposnors also gave blankets and t-shirts to the people present.

“The day was a staggering success and we appreciate each and every sponsor Trudy’s Nest received during the Madiba Day celebrations,” Haywood concludes.
