After great success during Randfontein’s first Relay for Life held in 2013, members of the community can now enter the 2014 campaign and continue the fight against this life threatening disease.
According to Cansa Staff Partner, Zandri Schickerling, this year’s Relay for Life will take place on 26 September at the Greenhills Sport Stadium. This will be the second year that a Cansa Relay takes place in Randfontein.
“The goal behind the Relay for Life, is to celebrate our cancer survivors, to remember those lost to this disease and to honor those who are still fighting against cancer,” Schickerling said.
The entry fee for this year’s Relay for Life is R750 per team. Children under the age of 12 years and cancer survivors will not be charged to take part in the relay. All the money raised through this initiative will be in aid of Cansa West Rand.
