Randfontein police arrested two suspects after they robbed and assaulted a man they allegedly knew at his home in the Zenzele informal settlement.
“The man was on his way to his house when he was approached by two suspects known to him. They then forcefully took his cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash. Owing to this, the man decided to flee to his house for safety but the suspects followed him,” Randfontein police spokesperson, Appel Ernst said.
“Upon their arrival, the suspects broke down the man’s door and forcefully gained entry into his property. They then ensued to bag numerous valuable items and assaulted the man prior to fleeing from the scene,” Ernst added.
The two suspects were since arrested and appeared in the Randfontein Magistrates Court. Their case has been remanded to 9 July.
