Motorist crashes into police member’s vehicle

"Culprit fled scene" – officer.

A Randfontein police officer got off the worst after a bakkie crashed into her personal vehicle yesterday afternoon.

The Randfontein police officer Letty Molatlhegi explained to the herald how she was travelling on the R28 from Westonaria towards Randfontein when the accident occurred.

“I don’t know what exactly happened prior to this but the car in front of me suddenly stopped. I had to slow down to prevent driving into it. While this happened, the car behind me smashed into the back of my car and immediately drove away from the scene,” Molatlhegi said.

She adds that she had to swerve into another lane to prevent colliding with the cars in front of her. This caused her to stop on the side of the road and partially on the pavement.

Fortunately no cars were involved and no injuries were sustained.
