Pada to host support group meeting
This is expected to offer support to those who are directly and indirectly affected by substance abuse.
Parents Against Drug Abuse (Pada) is set to host a support group meeting on 28 June at the Apostolic Restoration Church in Toekomsrus at 2pm.
This will be in partnership with Women Against Women and child Abuse (WAWA), West View Clinic and Child Welfare Toekomsrus.
According to one of the organisers does not wish to be named for fear of retribution by local drug dealers, this will be to offer support to those who are directly and indirectly affected by substance abuse.
“We have been actively fighting substance abuse for some time now.
“We wanted to establish a platform for drug abusers or those who are affected by addiction to come together and share their experiences and their pains if need be and know that they are not alone.
“This will allow them to get some weight off their shoulders and draw strength from each other.”
