Bikers honour fallen brother

Bikers from all over the West Rand came to pay their last respects to a fellow biker who recently died of bone marrow cancer.

Traffic in Randfontein was brought to a near standstill on Friday when a massive motorcycle parade drove through the town.

Bikers from all over the West Rand flocked to Randfontein in order to pay their last respects to Johan Coetzee, a Mac’s Motorcycle Club member who recently died of bone marrow cancer.

According to a representative of the Mac’s Motorcycle Club, Piet de Beer, Coetzee passed away on 3 June.

His funeral took place on 6 June at the Maranatha Worship Centre in Finsbury.

“Motorcycle clubs from all over the West Rand attended Coetzee’s funeral and this is a true testament that bikers do value their friends and community regardless of popular belief,” says De Beer.

“Coetzee was one of our Mac brothers and will always be remembered as part of the family.

“His place in the club will never be filled but we, along with the other West Rand motorcycle clubs salute you for the man you were.”

Other clubs that attended the funeral included Road Hogs, Scream, the Christian Motorcycle Association and Unknown among others.

“Coetzee’s involvement with the Mac’s was invaluable.

“He shared our pride of helping and supporting the community and will forever be part of the Mac’s,” says De Beer.
