Pensioner stabbed and hit with brick

An elderly man has been attacked and severly beated during a robbery at his Wheatlands home.

A 63-year-old man is lucky to be alive after he was stabbed and hit with a brick during a robbery at his home in Wheatlands.

The man was watching TV in his lounge when the incident occurred.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Appel Ernst, three men armed with knives and another armed with a brick just barged into the man’s house and started stabbing him and bashing him with the brick.

“The men beat him to a pulp,” says Ernst.

“They then ransacked his house and took electronic equipment including his cellphone and his TV before fleeing from the scene.”

The man sustained major injuries to his arms and his head and was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated.

Meanwhile, another person who was at the victim’s house at the time of the incident managed to get away unharmed

It turns out that the woman, who was identified as the victim’s friend, was hiding in the bedroom throughout the entire incident.
