EPR security and the Randfontein police have arrested three suspects after a business robbery at a local petrol station.
According to EPR security operations manager Mac van Zyl, they received a panic signal from their client at the petrol station immediately sent reaction units to respond.
Upon their arrival, reaction officers were informed that three suspects travelling in a grey Audi A4 had entered the business premises and stole gas bottles while holding staff at gunpoint, before fleeing from the scene.
“Staff at the petrol station gave us a description of their vehicle and we launched a search,” says Van Zyl.
“It wasn’t long before one of our reactions officers spotted the vehicle and a high speed chase through the streets of Randfontein ensued.”
In the meanwhile, EPR called the police, who joined the chase along the R28 toward Westonaria.
The suspects were eventually forced to a standstill near the turn off to Bekkersdal and arrested.
They were found with the stolen goods as well as an unspecified amount of drugs.
