Local golf club supports Rainbow Daycare

A local golf club from Toekomsrus made it their mission for 2014 to help Rainbow Daycare Centre by donating various articles they need.

In celebration of their 24th anniversary, the Palm Classic Golf Club, based in Toekomsrus decided to reach out to Rainbow Daycare Centre by lending a helping hand.

According to the treasurer of the Palm Classic Golf Club Grant Murray, he came into contact with the project manager of Rainbow Daycare, Tatum Solomons to find out what they can do to help this non-profit organisation.

“Tatum immediately supplied us with their wishlist and we started brainstorming a fund raiser for them,” says Grant.

“We then decided to host a golf day at Goldfields Golf Course and used the money raised to buy some of the items on their wishlist.”

Grant visited the Rainbow Daycare Centre on 13 May to give them some of the items on the wishlist.

These items included a vacuum cleaner, an earn, two panel heaters, chairs and storage bins for the children’s bags.

“Although we could not buy all the items on the wishlist, we will host various other fundraisers in order to buy these items for the centre,” says Grant.

Grant also wants to thank each and every sponsor who contributed to this project.

These sponsors include Captain Liquor, Goldfields Golf Club, Olivedale Spar, Malanshof Spar and Northwold Spar.

The Project Manager of Rainbow Daycare Centre wishes to thank Palm Classic Golf Club for the initiative and explains that this kind gesture means the world to the children of Rainbow Daycare.
