ANC draws racial line in the sand

ANC National Chairman draws the race card at Bekkersdal election rally.

“People must realize that the EFF and the DA will never rule this country.

“This also goes for the confused Agang SA because today they are black and tomorrow they are with the DA.”

This was the message delivered to the community of Bekkersdal by National ANC chairman Baleka Mbete during an ANC rally in Bekkersdal on 3 May.

Residents of Bekkersdal who were adamant that they would not vote, seems to have had a change of heart and have decided to allow ANC bigwigs to campaign in the township just days before the national elections.

Party bigwigs by the likes of ANC Gauteng Secretery David Makhura, struggle veteran Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and ANC national chairman Baleka Mbete descended on the township to urge that residents vote for the ruling party.

Addressing the community of Bekkersdal, Mbete said that residents of the area should not be fooled and swayed by opposition parties.
