Rhythm in us hosts freestyle championships

Dancers from all over South Africa flooded the Rhythm in Us Dance Studio stage to take part in the freestyle championship.

The Rhythm in Us Dance Studio is proud to say that they hosted a successful Freestyle Championship on 26 April at Misty Hills.

With more than 230 entrants from all over South Africa, the competition was tight and the local dancers had to pull out all the stops to ensure a place in the top spots of this prestigious event.

According to the owner of Rhythm in Us Dance Studios, Louis de Nobrega, more than 20 of the dancers were from Rhythm is Us.

“Our dancers did extremely well in the four different disciplines that formed part of the competition,” says Louis.

The disciplines that was judged during the championships were Freestyle, Slow Dance, Rock ‘n Roll and Hustle.

Bianca Pieterse and Ajay Wasserman from Rhythm in Us, took first place in both the Rock ‘n Roll and Hustle category while Mariska Reynolds and Cherise Nel both took second place in the slow dance category.

Mariska and Cherise competed in two different age categories.

“We host various championships throughout the year, and I am very proud of every Rhythm in Us dancer that competed at the Freestyle Championships,” says Louis.

“Each and every one of these dance students work extremely hard to master their craft and their hard work definitely paid off during the Freestyle Championships.”
