ANC: Do not be swayed by other political parties

"Do not be taken by these sudden organizations that know nothing about the history of the struggle. They don't have a track record of service delivery."

ANC supporters in Mohlakeng were urged not to be swayed by recently formed political parties and other opposition political parties during the national elections scheduled to take place on 7 May.

This was during a massive ANC election campaign on 15 April at the Mohlakeng Recreation Centre, were ANC bigwigs by the likes of ANC National Chairperson Baleka Mbete, Gauteng Provincial Chairperson Paul Mashatile, Head of ANC campaigns Fikile Mbalula and the West Rand District Municipality Executive Mayor Mpho Nawa conducted a massive door-to-door campaign aimed at persuading people to vote for the ruling party.

The campaign ended with a rally at the Mohlakeng Stadium.

According to Mbete, people must not forget where we come from as a country.

“I urge that you not be taken by these sudden organizations that know nothing about the history of the struggle.

“They often claim that they will do better but they don’t even have a track record.

“The ANC has a good track record of service delivery, hence we have a good story to tell,” says Mbete.

He adds that owing to this, people must look at the ANC’s achievements since the inception of democracy.

“We want to thank you as the vanguard of the organization because without you, the ANC campaign is weak.

“We therefore encourage you to tell a good story to our people about what the ANC has done since 1994,”says Mbete.
