Disabled man receives wheelchair donation

Before this, the man would borrow a wheelchair from a local disability centre and had to return it after some hours.

A disabled Mohlakeng man, Irvin Mogole has received a wheelchair as a gift from a local businessman and taxi driver Cheryl Luthers.

According to Luthers, he decided to help out after regularly spotting Mogole braving the streets of Mohlakeng without a wheelchair despite having a tough time doing so.

“Everytime I drove past Majaivane I was moved by his spirit and his perseverance and that is when I knew that I had to do something for him.

“He came across as this strong young man who was full of life.

“At times I would see him with a wheelchair and at times he didn’t have it.

“This one time I asked him where his wheelchair was and he told me that he borrows it from the local disability centre and has to return it after a few hours,” says Luthers.

He adds this is what initially moved him and led him to buying Majaivane the wheelchair that has changed his life.

The Herald also spoke to the overjoyed Majaivane who says that he is thrilled to now have a wheelchair that belongs to him and adds that he is grateful to Luthers for his kindness.
