Maimane launches DA ad campaign in Bekkersdal

The ads focus on the apparent failures of the ANC as well as the country under the leadership of President Jacob Zuma,

“President Jacob Zuma’s cattle are living in better conditions than the people of Bekkersdal.”

This is the message delivered by DA Gauteng Premier Candidate Mmusi Maimane during the launch of the party’s newest advertisement campaign in Bekkersdal on 8 April.

The campaign, entitled Enough is in responce to the ANC’s recent Good Story to Tell ad campaign, and focuses on the apparent failings of the ANC and the country under the leadership of President Jacob Zuma.

At the launch, Maimane spoke at length about how the DA feels that Zuma is not fit to lead the people of South Africa.

“We have had enough of the corruption that is going on in Zuma’s office and people need change.

“Yes people vote but how many of them really know the taste of freedom?

“People are still without jobs and President Jacob Zuma’s animals are living in much better living conditions than most people here in Bekkersdal,” says Maimane.

Maimane told the Herald that once voted into power on 7 May, they plan to eliminate corruption and focus on job opportunities in order to have a thriving economy.

“Development has been stalled in Bekkersdal and other parts of the country and we can see that with the lack of infrastructure.

“We also can see that with the number of unemployed people despite the President having promised millions of job opportunities.

“What we are saying as the DA is that once we are voted into power, there will be progress in terms of sustainable job opportunities and development without fail.

“We are certainly going to bring about radical change that is needed by the people of Bekkersdal and those of this country overall,” says Maimane.

Maimane spoke at length about the Nkandla SMS issue, in which the DA told people that President Jacob Zuma had stolen the money used for the controversial security upgrades to his private residence.

  1. I personally think indeed ANC should step down or if not they should consider to remove its leader of the ship(ANC) .Mr honourable had his fame ,however he has proven to the country that he’s tired and incompence with politics hence since he begin long ago during the apartheid .if he was’nt tired he would be able to recognize state of poverty from south africans of which it is due to lack of employment our this country.i’m currently a university first year student and i have applied for NSFAS bt i got no response and its not only me as individual but almost 80% of univen(university of venda) students are not covered as i speak.
