Horrific accident claims a life
Police are still trying to pinpoint the cause of the accident in which a passenger lost his life on the R28.
Another horrific accident has claimed the life of a local resident after the vehicle he was traveling in overturned and landed on its roof on the curve near Central Hotel on Main Road.
The horrific accident occurred on 31 March at approximately 2am and the deceased was a passenger at the time.
According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, details around the incident are currently unclear but it is believed that the driver of the vehicle lost control of the car when he was approaching the curve.
“Details around this incident are a bit sketchy but we are still investigating.
“By the time police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the victim still trapped inside the car.
“He was declared dead at the scene,” says Ernst
The police could not confirm whether the driver sustained any major injuries.
