RHS introduces their Representative Council of Learners

Randfontein High School is proud to introduce its new Representative Council of Learners.

After a gruelling period of campaigning, canvassing and a sophisticated electronic voting process, Randfontein High School inducted the Representative Council of Learners (RCL) for 2014 into office.

According to the media relations officer at Randfontein High School, Jason Fisher, the names of these pupils were announced during a prestigious ceremony.

“This year’s council consists of six executive members, twenty-four senior council members and forty-five class and grade representatives,” says Jason.

The executive members of the RCL are Silakhe Mlawuli (Chairman), Tshegofatso Thobedi, Bekithemba Zulu, Simone Bosman (head girl), Tshepang Nathane (head boy) and Nandi Moyeni.

The executive members are excited to make their mark at Randfontein High School in 2014.

“The responsibility might be daunting when you consider the fact that we have to maintain the academic record set by the matrics of 2013,” says head girl Simone.

In addition to their studies, each member of the council also participates in either sport or cultural activities.

To balance studies with extra-curricular activities is a matter of time management skills and the ability to remain focused.

“Our year is filled with various fund-raising projects for charity and we look forward to all the projects we will launch during this year,” says the Chairman, Selakhe.
