Maimane in Bekkersdal again

According to Maimane, residents of the area are still fuming over Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane's comment that she does not want their dirty votes and they demand that she apologizes in person.

DA Gauteng Premier Candidate Mmusi Maimane visited the community of Bekkersdal on 26 March to address issues of service delivery, corruption and alleged incompetence within the Westonaria Local Municipality among other pertinent issues.

This was near the Bekkersdal Taxi Rank at 6pm.

According to Maimane, residents of the area are still fuming over Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane’s comment that she does not want their dirty votes and they demand that she apologizes in person.

“We visited residents of the area and we got a sense of their disatisfaction.

“Without fail, residents are still angry after their votes were insulted and have since demanded an apology from Mokoyane.

“We do have a strong support base in the area and we will be doing our election campaign there,” says Maimane who adds that during his visit, residents also expressed dissatisfaction with the Nkandla report which shows how President Jacob Zuma apparently unduly benefited from the security upgrades made to his homestead.
