Man robbed outside FNB

He was just about to make a deposit when the incident occured.

A man was robbed of a substantial amount of money outside the FNB branch in the Randfontein CBD.

The robbery occurred just as the man got out of his car at the bank to make a deposit.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernts, the man had parked outside the back entrance to the bank in Marina Road at approximately 8.50am on 20 March and was busy locking his car when two heavily armed suspects approached him and pointed a firearm at him.

“The men searched him and found the cash that he was planning to deposit,” says Ernst.

“They took the money, got into a silver vehicle, and sped away.

She adds that investigating officer, Warrant Officer Karen Nel is working around the clock to track down the suspects.
