Municipal workers tackle pothole crisis

Is the municipality finally using tar instead of sand to fix potholes?

Despite potholes being a cause for concern for residents of Randfontein, Randfontein Local Municipality workers were finally spotted fixing potholes this morning (18 May) on Kenneth Avenue in Greenhills and other parts of Randfontein

This forms part of their schedule to repair roads as released by municipal spokesperson Lucky Chiya, who said that if the weather is favourable they could be done repairing potholes throughout Randfontein by the end of April.

Still, recent developments within the municipality has seen people not holding the repair efforts by the municipality in very high regard.

The municipality has been fixing potholes using gravel and even red sand instead of tar.

The Herald has approached municipal spokesperson Lucky Chiya with questions on which materials are being used to repair potholes in Randfontein and we have not received comment as yet.
