Ambulances smashes into bakkie

The ambulance was transporting a patient to the Leratong Hospital when the incident occured.

An accident occurred when an ambulance drove into the back of a bakkie on the Randfontein Road also known as the R41.

This was on 15 February at approximately 9.45 pm

According to an eye witness at the scene, the ambulance was rushing a patient to hospital when it smashed into the back of the bakkie carrying three passengers.

“From what I understand, the driver of the bakkie decided to make a u-turn on the road without indicating

“At the time, the ambulance was traveling towards Leratong Hospital and subsequently smashed into the back of the bakkie,” says the man.

According to paramedics at the scene, another ambulance traveling back from Leratong towards Randfontein saw the incident and helped transport the patient to hospital.

No injuries were sustained during the accident.
