Back to basics this Valentine’s Day

With Valentine's day just around the corner and a tight budget for all, it is the perfect time to get back to basics when it comes to the perfect Valentine's Day surprise.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner and a tight budget for all on the cards for 2014, it is the perfect time to get back to basics when it comes to the perfect Valentine’s Day surprise.

Although some people can afford those expensive diamond earrings or necklace as a Valentine’s Day gift, there are a lot of people still recovering from the December spend and therefore an expensive gift is not an option.

But, one should ask yourself, is that expensive gift really the most spectacular and special choice you want to spoil your loved one with?

With little money in the bank, the most basic Valentine’s idea will probably be the most special gift.

Rather than buying the umpteenth necklace, set of ear rings or some over-rated gift, get creative this Valentine’s Day and do something small, intimate and memorable.

A rose on your wife’s night stand when she wakes up, breakfast in bed or even a hand-written love letter like you gave her after that first date will do the trick.

Sometimes the best gift is the simplest.

In a rushed life, take the time to spend quality time with your loved one over a glass of wine or treat them to a bubble bath surrounded by candle light.

With a tight budget, bare in mind that a simple romantic gesture will be invaluable compared to an expensive gift.
