The Randfontein Local Municipality executive Mayor Sylvia Thebenare has established a platform where the youth can browse and apply for job opportunities.
This is at the communications department within the municipality where office resources are provided for the youth to make use of.
This is according to Randfontein spokesperson Lucky Chiya, this is to help make job opportunities more accessible to the youth.
“We have come to realise that most job opportunities are advertised on the internet and not everyone has access to that therefore this does not do them much justice.
“In order to address that issue, we have decided to provide office equipment in the form of computers, printers, internet access and a bit of stationery for the youth to make use of when searching and applying for jobs.
“However, this can only be used on an appointment basis,” says Chiya.
He adds that there are personnel to help with the compiling of CV’s.
“The Mayor (Sylvia Thebenare) has always been passionate about education and youth development as well as employment.
“We hope that the youth will come forward and make use of this platform,” says Chiya.
