Father dies in R28 accident
Another serious accident on the R28 claims a father and leaves his entire family critically injured.
A serious collision on the R28 near the West Village intersection claimed the life of a father and left his wife and four sons in critical condition on 30 January.
According to paramedics on the scene, the family was travelling along the R28 when they crashed into the side of a truck that was making a u-turn at the intersection.
Upon assessment, the father was found dead behind the steering wheel while his wife, who was in the passenger seat, had to be freed from the wreckage and was rushed to the Leratong hoospital.
Paramedics also found four boys aged between four and twelve in the backseat.
They were all in critical condition.
Two of the children were rushed to the Leratong hospital.
One of the children had to be airlifted to Garden City Hospital while the other was rushed to the Milpark hospital.
According to paramedics at the scene they sustained various serious injuries.
