Randfontein Local Municipality spokesperson Lucky Chiya has appeared at the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court on a charge of identity fraud this morning (27 January).
Chiya was arrested on 3 December last year after he was found using a false identity document to obtain credit.
During this time, Chiya was said to be under sequestration.
He has since been out on R5 000 bail and will appear again on 27 February.
After court proceedings, Chiya refused to give comment on the matter and walked out of the court room accompanied by family members.
