Police intensify war on drugs

Police spokesperson has issued out a warning that drug users and dealers as well as their king pins alike will be arrested.

The Randfontein SAPS have been true to their word and have arrested nine people for dealing and using drugs between 13 and 19 January throughout Randfontein.

The Randfontein SAPS has launched an all-out war on the drug trade in Randfontein.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst the police are fed-up with the drug trade and the destruction that drugs cause in families across Randfontein.

“The drug trade is rife in Randfontein,” says Ernst.

“But we have news for the drug dealers as well as those who use drugs.

“We will not rest until there is not a single drug dealer left in Randfontein.

“We will fight it by all means and eradicate all elements associated with it.”

Ernst says that police aim to achieve this through stepped-up law enforcement activities specifically targeted at the drug trade, as well as educational programmes at schools and other local institutions.

Ernst has once again called on the help of the community in this regard.

“Drug dealers do not care who they sell their drugs to,” says Ernst.

“All they care about is money.

“Selling drugs to innocent children do not bother these people at all. They only care about the money.

“With the help of the community, we can run these criminals out of our town.

“We will not stop until every drug dealer has either packed up and left Randfontein, or is behind bars.

“We urge the community to support us in eradicating the drug trade from Randfontein by calling 011 278 8100 with any information relating to drug dealers in Randfontein.”
