Police hunt Christmas killer

Police officers were shocked to find the body of a 36-year-old man in a pool of blood outside a house in Mohlakeng.

The Randfontein police are currently investigating the murder of a 36-year-old man who was stabbed to death during a Christmas lunch visit at a friend’s house in Mohlakeng Extension 11.

This comes after the man was found lying in a pool of blood in what police suspect was a stabbing incident.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, police were called out to the place in what was described as an assault incident and decided to investigate.

“Upon arrival at the scene, officers were shocked to find the body of a 36-year-old man in a pool of blood outside the house,” says Ernst.

She adds that information received at the scene indicated that the deceased was stabbed to death with a sharp object however that cannot be confirmed at this stage as no one witnessed anything.

“It is believed that prior to the incident, the deceased had excused himself from the table and went outside to answer his phone.

Upon his return, he was attacked and injured and left for dead just outside the house.

“At this stage the details are quite vague however a post moterm will be conducted to determine the exact cause of the man’s death,” says Ernst.

Meanwhile, the police are on a man hunt for the deceased’s colleague only known by Zuluboy,

It is believed that he might be able to shed some light on the murder.
