Church launches the David Project

The Heritage of Faith Worshop Centre is working to support a disabled boy.

David McKlopper (12) a little boy who has Roberts Phocomelia Syndrome is now the beneficiary of the David Project. David was born without arms or limbs. He lives with his mother and older sister in Toekomsrus.

Although he mostly is optimistic about his condition and is able to express positivity as well as an unconditional eagerness to learn to live a normal life, every day becomes tougher than the last for his mother Serunesa McKlopper who has to carry him everywhere he needs to be.

Serunesa is very small in stature and a single parent of two children, making his needs an endured difficulty for her.

Helen Goliath, a good Samaritan from the Heritage of Faith Worship Centre contacted the Roodepoort Record regarding David’s disability.

David and his family attend the church regularly, she explained. She added that they already have a 10-year plan in place to try and help David with his primary needs, together with his education and future endeavours.

The church has been running a project called The Samaritan Express, which demonstrates an act of goodwill among neighbours.

Their newest campaign is called Project David.

David is a Grade 5 pupil at the West Rand School in Krugersdorp. Considering his disadvantage, David works beyond his ability, and writes by using his foot.

He enjoys operating games on his PlayStation gaming platform. The young fellow enjoys sports and is one of the top pupils in his class.

“It is an important initiative to pursue,” said Earl Morrison who is a pastor at the church.

The team behind the initiative believes that it is possible to fulfil the purpose of the project but they need financial assistance.

The church calls for the help of anyone who wishes to make a difference in David’s life.

Your contribution surely will make a great difference to David and his family.
