The Westonaria Local Municipality offices will be closed this Festive Season and the municipality urges residents and business owners to make use of their emergency lines when in need of services.
The municipal office is scheduled to close on 24 December at 12 noon until 1 January 2014, however pay-point offices will be fully operational from 07.30am to 4pm during that time.
According to Westonaria Local Municipality spokesperson Kgabane Madiehe, this is to allow municipal workers to take ordinary leave and travel to their respective home towns. It will not have a negative impact on services rendered.
“We can assure the community and business owners that refuse collection, electricity and water services as well as emergency services will not be interrupted.
“We will have people on standby to ensure that such services run smoothly,” says Kgabane.
In cases of emergencies, residents are urged to contact the Electricity Department on 084 0549 378, Water and Sewerage on 073 227 1323 and 082 601 5267.
For sewer tank and waste removal, residents and business owners can contact 083 434 9499 and for the Department of Public Safety, residents can contact 072 1539 443.
