Two men aged 23 and 25-years-old were caught red handed with forged learner driver’s licenses.
The licenses sported the forged signature of a Randfontein traffic officer.
This was during a joint roadblock between the Randfontein SAPS and the Randfontein Traffic Department on 4 December on the R41.
According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Enst a police officer pulled over a suspicious vehicle to conduct a routine check.
During this time, the suspects were found in possession of the learner driver’s licenses that contained a bogus signature.
Further investigations at the scene revealed that one of the suspects had bought the licenses for a price ranging from R1000 to R3000.
They were both arrested and charged with forgery and using a forged document.
