The first citizen of Randfontein Executive Mayor Sylvia Thebenare has congratulated her team in council with the work done throughout the year and says that although they came across hurdles, they have had a fruitful year.
According to Thebenare the Randfontein Local Municipality has done its best, especially where service delivery is concerned.
This was revealed in a statement where the Randfontein Local Municipality executive mayor Sylvia Thebenare reflected back on the work done this past year.
“As the collective leadership of the municipality, we worked towards bettering the lives of our people through various programmes such as constructing roads, building houses and issuing mayoral bursaries among other things.
“It goes without saying that in some cases we were confronted with challenges along the way, but that’s a given in any institution.
“What’s is important is that together with our people, we have managed to rise above these challenges and I believe that through working together we can do more,” says Thebenare.
She adds that she is glad that they will close off the year on a high note and is looking forward to 2014.
