Men attacked after night on the town

One man was stabbed to death and two of his friends injured after they were attacked while walking home from a local pub.

Three men were attacked and stabbed while on their way home from a Mohlakeng tavern on 3 November.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, police were called to the scene at approximately 1.30am on the Sunday morning, and upon their arrival, they found the three victims.

The men were allegedly with a group of friends, walking from a local tavern to their home at the Mohlakeng Hostel when they were attacked by a group of men wielding knives.

Three of the men were stabbed.

The men managed to get away and ran home to the hostel, where one of them collapsed and died.

“The other two victims were stabilised at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment,” says Ernst.

“A case of murder and attempted murder was opened and will be investigated.”

She ads that no suspect have yet been arrested and that anyone with any information regarding this incident, is urged to contact the investigating officer, Warrant officer Thabiso Duiker on 011 278 8100.
