The Westonaria police have launched a manhunt for one of three suspects who was caught on CCTV footage during a business robbery in Westonaria recently
The suspects and his accomplices are believed to have stormed inside the local shop heavily armed and, at gunpoint, forced the shop owner and customers lie on the ground.
They continued to rob the shop and bagged valuable items and an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to Westonaria SAPS spokesperson Constable Thembi Masango, prior to their getaway, the suspects were spotted by the shop owner’s brother who came to the shop and found everyone lying on the ground.
Upon his arrival, the suspects threatened him with a firearm and immediately fled on foot.
“We managed to identify one of the men captured on CCTV footage,” says Masango.
“We tried to locate him at his home but to no avail.
“We will work around the clock to locate him.
“We believe that once we arrest him, his accomplices will shortly follow.” says Masango.
