A man was caught by EPR security reaction officers after he allegedly raped a woman near the railway line at the Randfontein Central Business District (CBD) on 20 September.

At the time of the incident, the woman was walking past the railway line at approximately 11:17pm.

“Upon his arrival at the scene, Wobbe saw the suspect physically assaulting the woman.

“He quickly interfered and removed the suspect from her,” says van Zyl.

He adds that the woman informed Wobbe that the suspect had raped her prior to beating her up.
