Security officers arrest fleeing robbers

The suspects were trying to jump over a boundary palisade fence.

Two suspects were caught and arrested after a botched robbery at a residential premise on the corner of First Street and Main Reef Road in Randfontein.

This was on 20 September at approximately 6.11pm.

According to EPR Operations Manager Mac van Zyl, they received a panic from one of their clients and immediately dispatched reaction officers to the scene.

“Upon arrival, reaction officer Abbe Wobbe and Shaun McGee spotted two male suspects and immediately stopped them in their tracks.

“At this time, they were trying to jump over a boundary palisade fencing,” says van Zyl.

He adds that the reaction officers also jumped over the wall and immediately gave chase.

They managed to apprehend the suspects and arrested them at the scene.

Shortly thereafter, they were handed over to the police for further investigation.
