Local poet wins during Heritage Day competition
Christopher Thembafrom TM Letlhake High School wins the poetry section at the Philani Development Centre's Heritage Day event.
Christopher Themba, a Grade 11 pupil from TM Letlhake High School recently won the poetry section at the Philani Development Centre’s Heritage Day event.
According to the programmes librarian at Westonaria Library, Righardt le Roux, Christopher is one of the young poets who is mentored by Westonaria Library.
“We are extremely proud of Christopher and his great results in this poetry competition.
“As part of his prize, he received a hand carved statue from Philani Development Centre as well as a cheque of R200 and a dignity pack for boys from the Department of Social Development,” says Righardt.
