Another hijack incident in Randfontein

The suspects closed in on him with their vehicles, preventing him to make any movement with his car.

Another hijacking has occurred in Randfontein with a 23-year-old man being the latest victim during an incident which occurred in Helikon Park.

This was on 3 September at approximately 10:20pm at the intersection of Arend Avenue and Lazar Road.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, the man was stopped by two vehicles, a black VW Polo Playa and a Toyota.

“The suspects closed in on him with their vehicles, preventing him to make any movement with his car.

“Three suspects then exited their vehicles and approached the man on foot.

“One of the suspects produced a firearm and opened the victim’s door.

“He dragged him out and threw him on the ground.

“Shortly after this, they went inside the man’s vehicle and fled from the scene,” says Ernst.

She adds that fortunately no shots were fired and luckily the man did not sustain any injuries.
