The Westonaria SAPS is set to host a career exhibition at the Westonaria Sports complex on 27 September.
According to Westonaria SAPS spokesperson Thembi Masango, this is in line with their efforts to encourage and advise matriculants on their chosen career path.
“We have come to realize that in many instances, children are puzzled as to what career to pursue after completing matric.
“This is a problem because in most instances, people tend to go for whatever seems available to them at that point in time.
“As a result, people often do not complete their tertiary education and tend drop out of school, subsequently losing hope,” says Masango.
She adds that this has a negetive impact on the number of graduates South Africa produces as well as the job sector as a whole.
“This is exactly what we are trying to fight against through our career exhibitions.
“We want to empower people with the necessary knowledge about career fields in order for them to make informed decisions. ” says Masango
