Municipality unveils completed roads

We are aware that some of our roads are still not in good conditions.

The Randfontein Local Municipality together with relevant officials from the West Rand District Municipality unveiled Segaetsho and Nhlapo Street in Mohlakeng on 10 September.

This was to officially launch the routes despite the fact that they have been constructed some time ago.

According to Randfontein Executive Mayor Sylvia Thebenare, this is not to only inform residents of the improvements implemented on the roads but to show residents the progress thereof.

“We are aware that some of our roads are still not in good conditions but we are working around the clock to fix this.

“As a matter of fact, national statistics have indicated that poorly constructed roads do contribute to road carnage in our country and that is what we are trying to fight against.

“With the many challenges on our shoulders, hopefully this will give people hope that their government is not a just about promises but about service delivery as well,” says Thebenare.

Shortly after this, Thebenare joined by members of the relevant departments stepped forward and cut the ribbon to officially announce the routes to residents of the area.

Following this, those present at the event moved to an unveiling of other key points that have been refurbished in Mohlakeng.
