Man attacked during house robbery in Mohlakeng

At this point the police are investigating the case and are looking at all possible leads.

A 23-year-old man was attacked and his house ransacked by two suspects on 20 August in Mohlakeng at approximately 11am.

It is understood that the suspects approached the man in his home under false pretences and produced a firearm.

They forced the man into the house and tied him up before ransacking the house.

They took numerous valuable items and left the man with just a cell phone and a television set.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, fortunately the victim only sustained minor injuries during the attack.

“At this point the police are investigating the case and are looking at all possible leads.

“It is alleged that the suspects fled in a beige Toyota Corrola but this is still to be confirmed,” says Ernst.

The police are calling on anyone who stays in the vicinity of Real Rovers Street that might have witnessed the incident, to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Bongani Mpete on 011 278 8126.
