Elvis Blue to rock Silverstar

The West Rand Community can look forward to a great night at Silverstar Casino when Elvis Blue comes to entertain.

Elvis Blue is known to the South African public as the winner of Idols 2010 where he shared half of his winnings from the show with runner-up Lloyd Cele.

This talented artist started his career at a young age by singing in choirs and later busking in the streets of Europe.

His music style is described as adult contemporary and he often plays at least one instrument in his songs. His real name is Jan Hoogendyk but his stage name is in honour of a youngster he met at a hospice his wife worked at.

Elvis Blue has since taken on many ambassadorial roles for varying socio-economic causes. He started The Elvis Blue Music Academy to teach underprivileged children the joy of music.

The academy provides instruments and instruction in a safe environment.

Elvis Blue will be performing at Silverstar on 6 September at 8pm.

Tickets to the show are R100 each and available from the Silverstar website. Silverstar Rewards Card Holders receive a 50 per cent discount when purchasing tickets via the website.
