Toekies church opens their doors to community

The Apostolic Restoration Church (ARC), based in Toekomsrus, have been winning souls for Christ for the past two years and invites the community at large to come and visit their church.

According to one of the pastors at the church, Tom Hogins, the church has a congregation of about 180 people.

“Our congregation is really diverse and consists of youth, elderly and everyone in between,” says Tom.

The ARC boasts with four full time pastors at the church. These pastors are Elrico Pattrick, Tom Hogins, Noel Rooskrantz and Elton Visagie.

“Our goal is to restore the community’s faith in our Savior and to bring people closer to God and His plan for their lives.

“We are determined to help the community to break loose from alcohol and drug abuse and take their place in the kingdom of God,” says Tom.

Aside from the fact that the ARC has energetic and blessed church services, they also host counselling sessions for members of the community who needs it.

“We believe that if you teach the people to fish, they can make an honest living.

“Therefore we host job preparation seminars every Wednesday from 10am to 11am.

“During these seminars we teach the people present how they can make a living by being an entrepreneur.

“This is our way of contributing to a lower unemployment rate,” says Tom.

Tom and his fellow pastors wants to encourage the community to become part of these inisiatives and join their Sunday services every Sunday at 10am.
