Ethiopian nationals targeted in business robbery.

Three Ethiopian shopkeepers became the victim of a business robbery in Brandvlei on 24 July.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, the Ethiopian nationals own a shop in the Baderile informal setlement in Brandvlei.

“The victims were asleep in a room adjacent to the shop when the wall was broken from outside with a big concrete block, which gave access to the building,” says Ernst.

“Two suspects, one of who was armed with a firearm then entered the buildingand allegedly demanded money from the victims.

“The suspects then took airtime and cash, before they fled.

“The victims did not sustain any injuries and no shots were fired during the incident.

“Any person who might have any information regarding this case may contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Bongani Mpete on 011 278 8100.”
