Butchery wins Cleaver Award

For the second year in a row Ziman Meats has been awarded the Cleaver Award.

Ziman Meats has been announced as the Gauteng provincial winner of the Cleaver Award, a national competition that awards the best butchers, nationally and regionally.

According to Pricilla Ziman, owner of Ziman Meats, butchery standards have improved significantly since the start of these awards eight years ago.

Aa an initiative of the South African Red Meat Forum, these awards acknowledge butcheries that meet consumer expectations such as in-store hygiene, the supply of quality-assured roller-marked South African beef, their level of competency in offering the best advice on meal preperations and perceived value for money.

“We are ecstatic at winning the Cleaver Awards for a second year in a row,” says Pricilla.

“We have entered the competition for the last two years and we are proud to see that our standards have remained so good that we walked away with the award in the Gauteng region.

“We have to give a lot of praise for winning this award to our staff. They are all hard working and very conscious of hygiene in the shop. Without them we would not have won this competition.”
